1 What does the web site migration service entail? Will my website be secure?

When your present web hosting provider can no longer match the needs of your website, or if you go through continual downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the support team to reply back to you, it may be a smart idea to swap your web hosting provider, i.e. to transfer all the files for your sites together with your databases from your present provider to your future provider.

2 How much time will it take for my web site to be moved over to your platform?

We try to perform all web site migrations ASAP. Yet, we don’t have a fixed time frame for website migrations. There are several factors that you have to take into consideration – the very size of your site and the workload of our website migration team, etc. We constantly strive to accomplish each migration in under 48 hours. With smaller–sized web sites, our team typically manages to finish in less than 24 hours.

3 Do you require something from me before you begin moving my web site?

We don't need any private data. We will require, however, the login information for your old hosting account along with the name of the website that you wish to transfer.

4 My present hosting account has delicate data inside. How can I trust you?

Client privacy is indeed one of our main priorities – this is why, both our payment page and our CP login page are protected with enterprise–level SSLs. We use security measures, which include, but are not limited to: physical, electronic and managerial procedures to secure the data that we gather online. 5 Will there be any outage for my web site?

Your web site will work exactly like it did before with your old hosting provider. After we have completed the migration, your site will be configured to work on our platform and we will ask you to preview it. If everything is functioning properly, all you will need to do is modify the name server records associated with your domain. Your web site will be migrated to us with no downtime.

6 Will my current web hosting provider discover that I’m leaving them?

No. We’ll never touch base with your hosting provider about anything. They won’t be aware of the web site transfer either.

7 Which web hosting providers can you transfer data from?

We support all Linux–based hosting platforms. In essence, if we can acquire access to your Control Panel, we will be able to migrate your website.The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source website building platforms like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.

8 How to transfer a domain name to uGottaHost.com if I already have an account with your company?

Once you have logged in into your account, simply click the "Register/Transfer Domain" button and follow the steps listed below:

  1. Type the desired name in the domain search box and click on the "Search" button.

  2. After you submit your query, the system will return the results and show all the domain names that are available for registration or transfer. From the list of the available domain names select the domain you want to transfer, press the "Transfer" button first and then "Proceed with the order" button.
  3. Note:

    An EPP authorization key is required for the following domains names: .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .tv, .com.tw, .idv.tw, .org.tw, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn

    To obtain that EPP key please contact your domain's current registrar.

    "Host this domain name with us" option is selected by default and it will automatically host your new domain(s) in the account with the server's default NS settings.

    For some TLD there is also a "Whois Privacy Protection" option which will allow you to purchase an Whois Privacy Protection service for your domain's WHOIS data.

  4. Edit your domain's Whois data if needed (by default the form is filled with your account details).

  5. If you want you can purchase an SSL Certificate too.

  6. To initiate the transfer procedure you need to agree with our "Terms of Service" and to select a payment method.

  7. When you are ready click on the "Continue" button to proceed to the next step.

  8. Once the payment is completed the transfer procedure will be initiated and you should receive a confirmation request via the e-mail, which you've given for administrative contact purposes regarding your domain name. You will have to follow a link in the mail to confirm the transfer. This way you will approve the transfer and show you are the owner of the domain name.
